At a time in the year 1980-81 when Gujarat was struggling for a foothold in the industrial arena of India, a strong and urgent need for uniform, all around peacefully stable and sustained development of industries of Gujarat as utmost priority was foreseen by the dedicated and committed industrialists of Gujarat. Having whole hearted commitment industrialists of Gujarat. Having whole hearted commitment to economic, technological and productive advancement of industries and people of Gujarat at their hearts, they rose to take-up and meet the challenge in no time.

To voice their feeling for this noble cause and with a vision, well wishers and the concerned industrialists gathered to give a final shape and outlines to their vision and associated themselves in a constitutional biding of the framework of a unit registered as FEDERATION OF INDUSTRIES AND ASSOCIATIONS (GIDC ESTATE) GUJARAT having registered office situated at 607/608, Hare Krishna Complex, Opp. Kothalawala flats, Pritamnnagar, Paldi, Ahmedabad, 380 007 in 1993.

Symbolically among industrial and Government Circle the Federation is known and addressed as FIA. It is the apex body of all GIDC industrial associations and other associated members having total strength of around 35000 members. The FIA right from its initiation is well received and recognized as true representative of India in Gujarat and stands duly nominated in various committees boards and advisory board in the state as also in the union Government/banks and a number of financial institutions. On various issues confronting industrial growth and fiscal applicability the FIA has a respectful place, representation and participation on routine important or urgent agenda at the meeting called by the various bodies of the government. The FIA is also allotted a specific role to play during natural calamities like earthquake, cyclone, foods or heavy rains and scarcity. Services during this period are well appreciated and acknowledged.
